A heavy set version of our anatomical skull with over 50gs of British recycled Sterling Silver made in our Derbyshire workshop.
Based on the legend of Ymir from Norse mythology - Ymir was the first giant who's entire skull created planet Earth . First spoken about in 13th century poetry and in the poetry of the Skalds. Ymir was both male and female, and gave birth to a male and female from their armpits, and their legs together begat a six-headed being. The grandsons of Búri, the gods Odin, Vili and Vé, fashioned the Earth (elsewhere personified as a goddess, Jörð) from their flesh, from blood the ocean, from bones the mountains, from hair the trees, from brains the clouds, from Ymirs skull the heavens, and from their eyebrows the middle realm in which mankind lives, Midgard. In addition, one stanza relates that the dwarfs were given life by the gods from Ymir's flesh and blood; or the Earth and sea.
Made from .925 Sterling Silver & Hallmarked using our custom hallmark from Birmingham Assay Office.
Each piece is hand made to order in our Derbyshire workshop by our Silversmiths and can take up to 4 weeks.
